hub4Youth charity branding, campaign messaging and identity

hub4 is a youth arts-based startup charity supporting 16–25 year-olds not in education, employment, or training. Funded by The Lottery Fund, the charity offers workshop-based courses that help young people explore arts and media in a way that traditional classrooms often don’t accommodate. The challenge was to create a brand and campaign that made these young people feel seen, understood and welcomed.

At the heart of the campaign is the idea of “not fitting in” — highlighting that many young people struggle in traditional educational settings, but that hub4 provides a place where their talents, interests, and individuality can thrive. This was embodied in the campaign line “We’ve a place for you”, which reinforced both the welcoming environment and the opportunity to join a course.

The visual identity uses bold, simple typography with a monotone palette for clarity and impact. The logo incorporates character silhouettes forming a ‘4’, echoing the brand name and the idea of assembling a community.
